Christmas without cats

Less than a couple of weeks before Christmas I was home alone for the first time. Before, cats were there to protect me from ghosts. Now the cats are ghosts themselves. Both nights my heart was pounding so hard I couldn't sleep, I had to take hawthorn.

The food order was already a week before Christmas, and I wondered if the hams and especially the rosolli would last long enough, and they were surprisingly good. Just to be on the safe side, I bought all the different rosollis, so that at least one would last over Christmas. I don't need much at Christmas. Ham, rosolli and mayonnaise are enough. And The Snowman, the Christmas peace declaration and From All of Us to All of You. Amazingly, I managed to watch Home Alone 2 in its entirety this time, I left it unfinished last time.

Since there are no more cats, we could put up a Christmas tree, real or plastic one. We couldn't have a plastic table tree because Tabitha wanted to eat it. We only had a real big tree once, and the cats really were into it. At least Olivia wanted to mess with a paper table tree, I don't remember if the others wanted to too. But these pictures are of a real table tree from ten years ago. And I should probably mention that all the photos in this post are old.

I could take a poisonous Christmas flower, and not worry about the strings on gift boxes that are deadly to cats.

This Christmas, there will be no board games, just Friday, on its last Christmas. We'll see if there are enough players, or if everyone is on some kind of "Christmas party". But the goal is to shake Chad's red speedo ass.

Ski jumping World Cup began

There are two topics that don't get blog readers: games and spectator sports. So here's another one of those.

Lillehammer

The Ski Jumping World Cup started off great for my favorite Domen Prevc. Last place in the first competition's qualifying (and only a week later I found out by chance that Domen fell!! When I did immediately think of that option. Yle had an interview with Domen after the Ruka qualifying, I wondered why, because he didn't win the qualifying or anything. Then they showed Domen's jump, and it was the fall from the previous weekend! Bad start to the season, luckily he wasn't injured). Disqualified in the second competition's qualifying.

On Saturday, it would have been a bit of a bummer if it had been Friday's game night, when the start and end of the ski jumping competition were postponed.

And then on Sunday, my other favorite Andreas Wellinger went on to win the one round race. And it was also such a shame that the Finns put the second and third places on the podium the wrong way around.

Domen made it to the competition, but not to the second round after jumping a whopping 80 meters. Yeah, I guess you could say something must have gone wrong?

Poland

Domen didn't make it to Saturday's competition again. He's doing well.

Domen made it to Sunday's competition, and I celebrated that. There surely was a reason for that. Namely, Domen was disqualified in the first round. He wouldn't have made it to the second round anyway.

The season couldn't have started much worse for him. If I feel bad, then what about Domen? He said on social media that "it is time to get things sorted out", does that mean he won't be in the next competition?

Well yeah. Here's the "problem": Wellinger's last season went really well. But the better he did, the less interested I was. Aren't I a glory hunter after all? It's been a long time since Domen has been my number one favorite in ski jumping instead of Wellinger.

Viaplay always disappoints

Viaplay has been even worse than before. They don't bother to show the qualifying at all, not even online. I guess they think that no one in Finland is interested in ski jumping.

It's nice to pay Viaplay big money for ski jumping, and then they don't even bother to show the ski jumping. Really damn fair.
